ANNUAL SPONSORED
RIDE AND STRIDE
The 2012 Ride and Stride will take place on Saturday 8th September 2012 .
Participants should look for supporters who will sponsor them for each church visited . Anyone may take part , whether a church member or not . Most will be cycling but others may be walking or riding a pony .
Half the money raised is returned to parishes to be put towards the cost of their own maintenance projects and half goes to the Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust , which also receives the reclaimed tax through Gift Aid .
There are prizes for those visiting the most churches and for raising the most money . There is also a cup to be won , kindly donated by Lord Brooke of Sutton Mandeville , President of the Friends of Wiltshire Churches .The Cup will be awarded to the parish with the best score calculated by multiplying the number of participants by the amount raised . There is also attached a special award of £500 to repairs and maintenance of the winning parish church .
The prizes for the best achievements will be given at an awards ceremony in Devizes on Friday 23rd November 2012 to which the winners are invited to bring family and friends and their parish organiser .
